| IDBA also has an adult program which practices year-round out of Lake Merritt in Oakland, CA. Membership
is appropriate for paddlers of all ages and skill levels. Adults can register a novice team, pay a modest amount ($1000/team for up to 25 members for 8 sessions or ~$40/paddler). More experienced teams can register a team and check out a boat for $75/hour.
All members will receive training from IDBA coaches and have the
option to become even more involved in dragon boat racing by learning
how to steer, coach and drum.
The benefits of dragon boating are substantial. Not only will a team
have access to $20,000+ worth of dragon boat equipment, but it is
also a great team building, recreational and social activity.
